Brian Hurley

Brian Hurley is CEO and Chairman of the Board of Genworth Financial Canada—the leading private insurer of residential mortgages in Canada.

Brian has held senior roles in the mortgage insurance industry for more than 20 years. He led the establishment of Genworth (then GE Capital Mortgage Insurance) into the Canadian marketplace in 1994 and later led it through its initial public offering in 2009.

Prior to the IPO, Brian was responsible for Genworth’s activities in key markets around the world as President, Genworth International from 2004-2009. Before that he was Senior Vice President, International of General Electric’s U.S. mortgage insurance business and Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations.

Brian started his career with General Electric as a member of its prestigious Financial Management training program. He held roles in manufacturing, with numerous assignments in its Power Generation and Aircraft Engine Divisions. Upon GE’s acquisition of NBC, Mr. Hurley joined NBC as Director of Capital Planning. In addition, Mr. Hurley was part of NBC’s corporate staff as Director of International Finance.

Brian graduated from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
